this is a donation drive for eSIMs for gaza, which collects purchased, unactivated eSIMs, and redistributes them to people in need in gaza.
eSIMs are digital SIM cards which provide cellular data and SMS for a phone number, but don't require a physical card to do so. because of the communications blackout in gaza, eSIMs are critical to keeping the people there connected to the rest of the world. this is especially important for journalists reporting from gaza who rely on eSIMs to connect to the internet, but also essential for people to keep in touch with their families.
i am offering pet portrait commissions in exchange for the purchase of an eSIM/eSIMs for at least $20 USD, sent to the gaza eSIMs project. this can be a single eSIM or multiple.

eSIM donors for gaza collects further information/tips for the process. if at all possible, please also monitor and top off the card, for as long as you're able or it's in use. unused, expired eSIMs can also be refunded to buy a new one. i have no way of checking if you've done this, so it's not required, but it is strongly encouraged.
previously, donating to crips for eSIMs was an option here. however, because they have funds reserved for topping off eSIMs, it's hard to me to tell what the needs of their fundraiser is at a glance. please feel free to donate to them, but i'm not supporting it as an option here, preferring the main project.
i will draw almost any animal or pet! (i.e. i will draw snakes and spiders.) i will draw animals that are not yours or gifts for others, so if you don't have a pet, the squirrel you saw last week or the bird on your birdfeeder is perfectly fine, as long as you have a photo of it of a decent quality.
i will not draw fictional animals, animal abuse, things that are not animals, or humans.
commissions can be used for whatever, but please credit and link back to this fundraiser. please don't turn my art into NFTs.
drawings will be in a painterly/realistic style with a flat/minimal background. i work at a resolution of ~1000x1000px. if you're planning to print these images, please let me know in your email! but please note that i draw at a low resolution, so printed images may either be very small or of lower quality than most prints.
i'm roughly estimating turnaround at 3 weeks max, but this time may vary because i haven't done art commissions before and i'm not sure how much interest there will be. turnaround may vary depending on the complexity/detail of the photo you're giving me. i'll be in communication or update here if i take longer than that, but otherwise your patience is appreciated! i will update this page if i'm no longer taking commissions.
